Sen. Salazar’s Statement on Today’s Passing of Western Water Hero: W.D. Farr

DENVER, CO – United States Senator Ken Salazar released the following statement after learning that William D. (W. D.) Farr had passed away today. W.D. Farr was a third generation Coloradan known for ranching and as an expert in western water issues. Earlier this year, Mr. Farr was inducted into the Hall of Great Westerners at the National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

“W. D. was a personal hero of mine and of the West,” said Senator Salazar. “He was a giant of Colorado water and he spent countless hours teaching me the lessons of Colorado’s water history. W.D. has left an indelible mark on Colorado and the West, and his spirit will continue to grace us forever.”
