Salazar Statement on Benazir Bhutto Assassination DENVER, CO - Today, United States Senator Ken Salazar made the following statement upon hearing that former Pakistani Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto was assassinated earlier today. "Benazir Bhutto's death is a blow to peace and stability in Pakistan and the entire region. A stable Pakistan is critical to our National security and our global fight against terror. I continue to believe that Pakistan must move forward with free, fair, and open elections in January that are democratic and include the opposition parties." ###
