Sen. Salazar Statement on Leprino Foods' Decision to Open Production Facility in Greeley

DENVER, CO – Today, United States Senator Ken Salazar released the following statement in response to Leprino Foods’ decision to open a new cheese and whey production facility at the former site of the Western Sugar Company in Greeley, Colorado.

“I am extremely pleased that Leprino Foods has chosen to locate its new cheese and whey production facility in Greeley. This decision represents a ‘win-win’ for Leprino and the people of Northern Colorado who will benefit from the firm’s long record of job-creation and good corporate stewardship.”

Earlier this year, Senator Salazar sent a letter to Leprino Foods Chief Executive Officer James Leprino expressing his strong support and encouragement for Leprino Foods to open a second plant in Northern Colorado. The firm currently owns and operates a facility in Fort Morgan, Colorado.
